Rich Maloy’s Big Crits web series makes its debut
by WoW.com on Apr.28, 2010, under big-crits, bigcrits, documentary, raiding, rich-maloy, series, web-series, webisodes
“I’m producing a new web series that will be the Real World (of Warcraft). The guild and the show are called Big Crits. It’s a reality series about the interaction of people in an end-game raiding guild. The tagline is: Real people conquering a virtual world. The vision is simple: show how people from all walks of life work together to accomplish great things online.”
And now, at last, Big Crits has just released its premiere episode, with a second following closely behind later this week. Those who wish to follow the exploits of the Big Crits crew can check out the first episode above or on bigcrits.com, where new episodes should appear once a week.

Felicia Day says The Guild comic is coming in Spring 2010
by Alex Ziebart on Dec.15, 2009, under DollHouse, Eliza-Dushku, blizzcon, christmas, comic, dark-horse, dark-horse-comics, episode, felicia-day, fun, jim-rugg, lie-to-me, microsoft, newsarama, sandeep-parikh, the-guild, video-game-awards, web-series, writing

Felicia Day told us back at BlizzCon that she was going to go undercover for a little while as The Guild’s latest season wrapped up, but undercover for this woman seems to mean that she’s only in two TV shows and prepping for a comic book release. She showed up in last night’s Lie to Me episode, singing, and in this interview over at Newsarama from the Video Game Awards with Sandeep Parikh (who himself just showed up in Tiki Bar TV — slightly NSFW, language) she says she’s still working on the unfortunately canceled Dollhouse as well. So that’s where Eliza Dushku got her addiction from.
She also says that the Dark Horse published Guild comic book is due out in spring of next year — Jim Rugg is working on the art right now — and fans of The Guild may even get a little Christmas present from the show and Microsoft. We’ll keep an eye out for that for sure. So even though we’re in between seasons (and we assume that season 4 is upcoming next year, even though we haven’t heard an official announcement on that yet), there’s lots of Guild goodness to go around.

The Guild posts episode 9 of season 3
by Alex Ziebart on Nov.04, 2009, under axis-of-anarchy, clara, codex, episode-9, episode-9-season-3, felicia-day, jeff-lewis, knights-of-good, robin-thorsen, sandeep-parikh, the-guild, the-guild-season-3, vork, web-series, web-video, zaboo

The Guild is back after last week’s Halloween interlude, and left at her “wit’s end” while leading the guild, Codex decides (with a little prodding) to take the fight to the Axis of Anarchy. And they do so with wacky results as usual — Zaboo shows that his trysts with the stupid tall hot girl might have given him a whole new side. The video’s available in all of the usual places (including after the break on this post), so tune in and give it a watch.
There are only three episodes left in the season after this one, which means in three weeks (barring any more holiday-related extras), we’ll be seeing a conclusion to this “rival guild” storyline. Will the Knights of Good conquer? Will Vork find his place in the world again? Will Clara find her own domestic bliss? Whatever happens, it’s sure to be entertaining as always.
Like The Guild? We do, too! We chatted with all of the folks at BlizzCon, including Felicia Day, Sandeep Parikh, and Jeff Lewis and Michele Boyd. We also saw their panel, and the guys were nice enough to stop by our meetup as well. Stay tuned here every Tuesday for a brand new episode of season 3!Continue reading The Guild posts episode 9 of season 3

Felicia Day on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon
by Alex Ziebart on Sep.30, 2009, under culture, dr-horrible, draenei, felicia-day, gaming-culture, hdtv, internet, jimmy-fallon, late-night-television, network-television, the-guild, web-series, world-of-warcraft
The two chat about their first meeting, where Felicia helped Fallon roll up a draenei, as well as Dr. Horrible and how all of The Guild DVDs are made. And at the end of the interview, Fallon even hooks her up with some tickets to a NY show. Looks like it was a lot of fun, and it’s great to see someone who’s worked so hard on something they love get a nice bit of recognition for it.
Update: Sorry, forgot that Hulu only works in the US. Here’s another video that should work outside the States.

The Guild episode 2 of season 3
by Alex Ziebart on Sep.08, 2009, under axis-of-anarchy, felicia-day, jeff-lewis, knights-of-good, michele-boyd, msn-video, sandeep-parikh, the-guild, web-series, wil-wheaton, xbox-live
Unfortunately, the Axis of Anarchy turns out to be more than a match for the Knights of Good, and that leads to a shocker that The Guild will probably be dealing with for a long time to come. Or at least until next week, when the new episode (and hopefully the game’s new expansion) comes out. You can see the entire episode embedded right here after the break — enjoy!
